Sonia Hunt

Art Instructor

Sonia Hunt earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a concentration in ceramics sculpture, from East Carolina University in 1998. In 2005 she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she held a teaching fellowship and taught courses in foundation studies, drawing and ceramic sculpture. Her creative work has been exhibited locally and nationally in galleries, alternative spaces and museums.

An arts educator since 1998, Sonia helped organize the Young Artists Program at the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, created a series of workshops for international students at UNC and taught art in Belize as part of a study abroad program. Five years ago she began her own art program for students ages 5-17.

Sonia was born in Bermuda and lived for six years in Italy before moving to the United States in 1980. She enjoys traveling, tennis, gardening and watching things grow.
